Stimulation Labs (Basic and Advance)
ANIDS has basic and advanced simulation labs to provide a scenario of exposure and learning that mimics real to life clinical scenarios . These labs also provide a basic instructional foundation related to the basic aspects of related subjects . A list of the labs is given below :
- Basic Laboratories for Dental Anatomy & Oral Histology (I BDS): Students are exposed to microscopic slides in the Oral Histology training lab to gain a better understanding of oral tissues. In the Dental natomy lab apart from exposure to models for a better understanding of the intricacies of the morphology of teeth the students are also trained in the art of carving teeth from wax blocks.
- Basic Simulation Laboratories for Histology, Osteology & Embryology ( I BDS ) : Students are exposed to slids and preserved specimens for an in depth understanding of the human body as relevant to te head and neck region.
- Advanced Simulation laboratory for Anatomy (I BDS) : The well equipped dissection laboratory allows students to dissect human cadavers for a mock surgical eposure of understanding the intricacies of gross anatomy.
- Basic Simulation Laboratory for Physiology (I BDS ): Students are trained to evaluate basic functional parameters of the human body on themselves and their colleagues to understand how to test and interpret results related to the functioning of the human body.
- Basic Laboratories for Dental materials and Pre Clinical Prosthodontics (I & II BDS): Students are trained in the manipulation and use of basic dental materials. In the basic preclinical prosthodontuics training laboratory they are trained in the fabrication of partial and complete removable dentures.
- Basic Laboratory for Preclinical Conservative Dentistry (II BDS) : Students are trained to identify and treat various types of tooth decay initially on larger than size plaster of paries models and later will be trained in the advanced simulation lab.
- Advanced Simulation Laboratory for Pre-Clinical Conservative Dentistry (II BDS) : Students are trained on patient mannequins to identify and treat various mock decay situations in a situation that imitates the real to life clinical scenario right from hygiene parameters, patient and doctor positioning for erginomics and treatment effeiciency , instruments and materials layout and treatment planning & execution
- Basic Laboratory for Orthodontics (II BDS & III BDS): Students are trained in the basics of wire bending by way of wire bending exercises
- Basic Laboratory for Oral Pathology (III BDS) : Students are exposed to slides and specimens related to pathological conditions of the head and neck for a better understanding of diseases affecting the head and neck
- Advanced Simulation Laboratory for Orthodontics ( IV BDS) : Students are trained in the fabrication of removable appliances using patient models (casts) to simulate a real to life clinical scenario . Students are also trained in Model and X-ray analysis.
- Advanced Simulation Laboratory for Prosthodontics ( III , IV BDS ) : Students are trained on patient mannequins , to execute the clinical steps required in the fabrication of fixed dental prostheses ( crowns & bridges)
- Advanced Simulation Laboratory for Periodontics ( IV yrs) : Students are exposed to the handling of electrosurgery and Laser surgery units.
